CECT Iphone Clone

The CEC Telecom Co., Ltd is engaged in the production of different models of china mobile phone based on the iPhone technology, the CECt mobile phones are designed in such a way that they can be effectively called the clone of the iPhones, as per the features possessed by them. The latest release by the company in January of 2008 is the CECT phones A380i and it is the latest clone of the iPhone and it is the further improvement upon iPhone technology. Although this phone looks like and performs every bit as impressively as the iPhone, it actually improves upon areas where the iPhone was lagging behind.
http://www.gsdbuy.com/mobile-phones-c-1/
The CECT A380i carries an additional sim slot, making it a dual sim phone like the P168. Two sim slots present in the touch cell phone gives you the ability to have two cell phone numbers without ever having to switch off the phone. It also beats iPhone by adding a removable battery, additional speakers and a slide unlock feature that allows you to immediately unlock the cell phone wholesales and use whatever carrier you wish. It is a great drawback with the iPhone is that it forces you to use AT&T’s service that is quite expensive and in the most cases it distracts the user to do so.

Casio Exilim EX-S10 Review at TrustedReviews
Trusted Reviews has posted their review of the Casio Exilim EX-S10 where they write - 'As a small snapshooter the Casio may not suit everyone, even though it offers something for everyone. The handling is down to taste and personal physiology, so we can't expect the perfect china digital camera, but the small form is quite fiddly. In terms of images the camera is also hit and miss, with reasonable but not great results. A stand out feature is the dynamic range but other than that the camera produces too many blurred, noisy and distorted images. Most snappers won't notice, but there are so many wholesale digital cameras available that are better that it would be a shame to miss out just through ignorance.'

Nikon Coolpix S700 Review of Imaging Resource
Imaging Resource reviews the Nikon Coolpix S700 and writes - "Small, compact, and very capable, the Nikon Coolpix S700 will please many consumers with its good color, exposure, and resolution. The Nikon S700 captures great images under a variety of conditions, thanks to its range of preset Scene modes and useful tools such as D-Lighting and Distortion Control. Face-Priority AF technology helps get the best focus on portraits, even of large groups. The 12.1-megapixel discount digital ca meras D captures excellent resolution and detail in good light an at low ISO, and the 3x optical zoom lens is sharp and clear. High ISOs extend the camera's low-light shooting capabilities, though strong image noise becomes a factor. Printed results show that ISO 800 is capable of getting a good 5x7. "

The Right Laptop Accessories

The notebook computer is coming of age. For the first time in history, notebooks or laptops are out-selling their bigger cousins, desktop computers.
The rise in popularity of the notebook computer accessories can be contributed to many factors: drop in prices, stiff competition, aggressive marketing, but perhaps the biggest factor -- increased performance.
http://www.gsdbuy.com/computers-office-c-32/
With each new generation of notebooks, we are seeing some novel breakthroughs: dual core notebooks, PCI Express, Sonoma Chipset, increased storage, increased RAM, faster CPUs, better battery life and better wireless access including a Cellular Modem Connection. All these new innovations are making for a more powerful computer embodied in a sleeker smaller package that consumers want.
However, as most notebook enthusiasts know, to get full enjoyment from your laptop or notebook china computer assessories you must have certain essential accessories. These laptop accessories will greatly enhance your notebook experience and make for a much more satisfying all-around ''complete laptop''.
Here''s a wish list of laptop accessories you may want to consider purchasing:
1. Carrying Bag or Backpack This is essential if you will be doing a lot of traveling. You might even want to consider a wheeled bag for those heavier laptops. Try to purchase a wholesale computer assessory carrying bag that has plenty of compartments for all those notebook peripherals. Always check to see if your laptop or notebook will fit!
2. Extra Battery Since most batteries last less than 5 hours you will need an extramodel airplanesbattery or two. You should also check out bringing along an external battery for your laptop.
3. Port Replicator This is one essential you should consider buying for your laptop or notebook computer assessory online It''s a real hassle dealing with all those wires and connections on your laptop, that''s where your port replicator or docking station solves your problem. Plug all your peripherals into the docking station or port replicator -- connect and disconnect your laptop with ease without having to deal with all those wires and connections. A must have!

smartphone

There's been a fair amount of interest in an offhand comment I made recently about saving a lot of standby time by making an LED blink less frequently. So let's spend some time talking about what burns power on your Smartphone. Hopefully this will give you an understanding of where that battery power went and maybe help you figure out how to squeeze a little more life out of your devices.
Milli who?
If you look at your phone's battery, you'll probably find a label that says something like "1000 mAh". Think of this number as the size of your battery's gas tank. A bigger number means that the battery can hold more power. A lower number means that it holds less. The "mAh" is an abbreviation for "milliamp hours."
I won't go into the differences between amps, volts, and watts here (unless you folks really want me to). You could correctly say that mAh doesn't represent power, but, for various reasons, it's reasonable to think of it as power. And, when you do, the math becomes really easy.
If your smart mobile phone had a 1000 mAh battery and only burned 1 mA, then it would last for 1000 hours. If it burned 2 mA, it would last for 500 hours. If it burned 1000 mA, it would last for one hour. Milliamp hours divided by milliamps equals hours. It's that simple.

http://gaoyuan.blogr.com/stories/
Who you callin' "typical"?
Every phone is different. Any numbers I give for a "typical" window mobile6 smartphone might be wildly different on your phone. Hardware changes all the time, and so do these numbers. So don't hold me to them. But, a "typical" WM Smartphone has around a 1000 mAh battery. And, when in standby (backlight off, screen off, cpu doing very little, chinese smartphone only listening for incoming calls), the typical device burns around 5 mA. Doing the math, you'll see that the typical device should run for 200 hours on standby.
200 hours??? I'd kill for 200 hours!
Are your batteries not lasting that long? Here are the biggest power users on your wm smartphone. Maybe one of them is hurting your standby time.
Backlight: The backlight eats power like a whale eats plankton. "Typical" backlights burn 45 mA. Your wm6 smartphone with the backlight on is probably burning ten times as much power as it does during standby. In other words, every minute you spend with the backlight on is ten minutes less standby time you'll have. If you keep your backlight on continuosly, your 200 hour phone will become a 20 hour phone.
CPU: This one is really complicated, but the simple story is that faster CPUs burn more power than slower ones, and CPUs burn a lot less power when they're not being used than when they're busy.
The first factor is why you still see some devices with a 200 MHz CPU even though there are much faster ones available today. All else being equal, a 200 MHz CPU uses half as much power as a 400 MHz one.
The bigger deal, though, is CPU usage. When the CPU is idle, it goes into a lower power mode that burns much less power than when it's active. When you're not doing anything with it (and not syncing), the Smartphone CPU is generally idle 99.9% of the time. If you were to load an app that kept the CPU busy just 1% of the time, that app would be using ten times more CPU than normal. Depending on the CPU and other factors, this could turn your 200 hour phone into a 20 hour one.
This is why I did those "Power to the Developers" blog entries and begged people to not use the CPU when the phone was idle. It's fine to do animations and things when the user is interacting with the device (especially when the backlight is on). But the app really should stop when the screen turns off. If the user can't see the screen, why burn the power trying to show him something?
As a user, you can pay attention to the apps you add to your phone. Did your battery life plunge after adding something? Do you have a great new stock ticker on your home screen that's still scrolling text at 3 AM when you're asleep and the phone is on your bedside table? Do you have ActiveSync set to sync every 5 minutes, but you only look at the device every 10? Maybe in off peak times you should set it to something very long, or even manual. Or, you might ask, "Is always up to date (AUTD) email better or worse for batteries than 5 minute sync?" That depends. Do you typically get email more often then every 5 minutes or less often than every 5 minutes? Any time spent syncing is CPU power being spent. The less you do it, the better your battery life will be.
Cell Radio: The cell radio burns a lot more power when actively sending data than when idle. This factors into those active sync decisions above. It also means that an app which sends or receives data will burn much more power than one that doesn't.
Even when idle, the cell radio will burn around 2 mA of the device's 5 mA standby current. If you need to stretch your battery life out, you can get quite a bit of mileage out of putting it into flight mode. Of course you can't send or receive phone calls then, but maybe you don't want phone calls at 3 AM when you're asleep. You might benefit from putting the phone into flight mode before going to bed. (Personally, I go one step further and turn mine off at night. Other people don't want to be disconnected and leave theirs on. Do what works for you.)
Signal strength is a huge factor as well. The closer a cell radio is to a cell tower, the less power it takes for the two of them to communicate. When you move into a poor signal strength area, the radio needs to turn up the power to stay connected. I frequently hear people at odds over whether a given phone has good battery life. One will say the phone is great, and the other will say that it's terrible. More often than not, the one who thinks battery life is great lives in an area with great signal strength and the one who thinks it's bad lives in an area with poor signal strength. Personally, the only place in my home where I can get any reception at all is standing next to the window in my son's room upstairs. I might as well turn on flight mode as soon as I get home…
Bluetooth: BTh uses another radio. Having it on at all burns more power than having it off. Having it on and sending data over it burns more power than having it off and not sending data over it. If you're using BTh, you need to have it on. If you're not, you should turn it off to conserve power.
Vibration: Here's a prime example of why the battery capacity is measured in milliamp hours. Time is just as important as current draw in figuring out who is burning all your power. If the backlight is on for a second, it'll burn 1/60th as much power as if it's on for a minute. Case in point, the vibration motor is probably the single biggest instantaneous power draw in the device. It's got to physically move the device around, and that takes a lot of power. But the vibration motor is never on for very long. It shakes the phone for a few seconds every so often, but does nothing most of the time. So the vibration motor isn't a substantial drain on the battery. That said, if something were to happen to cause your vibration motor to turn on and not turn off, it would suck your batteries dry in no time.
LEDs: These are the little blinking lights on the outside of your phone. Typically you've got a green one that blinks whenever the cell radio is on. You usually have a blue one that blinks whenever Bluetooth is connected. Sometimes you have a yellow one for other sorts of notifications, like upcoming calendar appointments or unread email.
LEDs annoy me. In my opinion, they burn more power than they're worth. But there's usually no way to turn them off. (They're completely OEM controlled.) Everyone assumes that users are best off with a LED telling them that the radio is connected. I think we should be weighing that against how much power the LEDs draw.
A typical LED, while on, burns 5 mA of current. Remember that the entire phone in standby is burning 5 mA. Turn an LED on and leave it on, and you'll cut your battery life in half. Fortunately, we don't usually leave LEDs on. We blink them. Typically, the blink rate for a LED is something like 0.2 sec on, 1.8 sec off. Since that results in the LED only being on 10% of the time, overall it just burns 10% of its 5 mA, or 0.5mA.
When I say that a typical phone on standby uses 5 mA, it's actually using 4.5 mA, with the other 0.5 going toward blinking that green LED. I recently worked on an extremely power efficient device whose standby current was 2.5 mA with the LED off. It just killed me that we had to blink the LED and bring the standby current up to 3.0 mA. So I convinced people to let me change the blink from the standard 0.2 seconds out of every 2 to 0.05 seconds out of every 2. Now, rather than being on 10% of the time, the LED was on 2.5% of the time. And the power went from 0.5 mA to 0.125 mA. On a 1000 mAh battery, that change alone would buy almost 50 hours of standby time.
I'm not ready to start carrying "Down with LEDs" placards. But if you want to put pressure on your Mobile Operators to tell their OEMs to get rid of the darned things, you'll get no objection from me.
What about the PocketPC?
That's the majority of the story on Smartphones. There are definitely similarities in the PocketPC, but there are some differences too. I'm personally more interested in Smartphones, but if you folks are interested, I could do a follow up entry on PocketPCs too. I'll be out next week, but when I get back, I'll gauge interest and write one if necessary.
In the mean time, I hope this has helped you understand where your battery life is going.

luxury phone

French luxury-phone company Christian Dior Wednesday will unveil a line of mobile phones, extending beyond its traditional fashion business to boost sales.
The new Dior phone, priced from €3,500 ($5,000) and up, comes after competitors such as Prada SpA and Dolce & Gabbana have turned their fashion-branded mobile phones into significant businesses.
The diamond mobile phones will be made by a small French manufacturer, ModeLabs Group.
Dior Chief Executive Sidney Toledano says the idea of creating a Dior phone was driven by demand in new luxury mobile phones markets such as China and Russia. “In the same way that we have developed our watch and jewelry lines, we want to increase sales with the phone,”.
He expects to sell at least 10,000 of them a year at the beginning and hopes to reach annual sales of €200 million in the longer term.
“What really convinced us was seeing the attention people in emerging markets pay to buying a phone, by selecting the color and design,”. In Europe and the U.S., in contrast, htc mobile phones are seen as more disposable commodities, he said.

Sony Ericsson Black Diamond luxury phone artist’s rendering

Singapore-based industrial designer Jaren Goh has presented this rendering of an ultra stylish high-end Sony Ericsson, dubbed Black touch Diamond phone , from which the actual company could get some inspiration (dreaming is for free). Apart from a 4 megapixel camera without flash (Jaren, what were you thinking?) and no navigation buttons at all, the OLED screen is located behind a polycarbonate layer with “mirror cladding” so you see your face when you want to check mail, much like what is seen in Sony’s A3000/A1000 Mp3 players. Tag Heuer Meridiist Luxury Phone Gets Even Fancier with Diamonds

Shine on you crazy htc diamond phone. Last year Tag Heuer previewed their Meridiist luxury phone line, designed to compete with other high end cell phones like the Vertu. Yesterday Tag Heuer announced the launch of a website for the Meridiist and we've got a sweet photo of the touch diamond phone encrusted version of the phone to with this story. These phones typically sell for about $4-6000 but these diamond versions start at over $11,000.The phone itself is a sleek model made of stainless steel with a OLED screen behind scratchproof sapphire crystal glass and your choice of several different leather style and colors on the back. It has 28 days of standby and 7 hours of talk time. The htc diamond mobile phone has a camera with a mechanical sliding lens cover (a feature all phones should have since those lenses get scratched and dirty so easily) and a neat clock feature on the top. You can order one via the Tag Heuer website I listed above. I'm saving up for one!

You know the drill, by now; I wheel out another luxury phone for us to look at, we point and laugh at the price, I mither about them having rubbish features then say “er, no thanks,” and we all go home happy. Think back to the Vertus I’ve looked at, and the Motorola Aura, if you need reminding how I feel about this particular class of phone…
However, this may be the part where I eat my previous words, because at long last, after 8 years in this business, I’ve found a luxury mobile phone I actually like the look of!
Now, I could go on about its features, because unbelievably for a luxury phone, it has some. It does appear to be a proper htc mobile phone, with a 2.8 inch, multitouch screen, full email and internet clients, plus WiFi, and a 5 megapixel camera that appears to have an LED flash. Sure, it’s no Sony Ericsson Idou, but if you compare it to phones like the Vertu, it wipes the floor with ‘em.
I could go on about the build quality, that looks to be better than most other mobile phones I’ve come across. It really does come across as the Bentley of the htc touch mobile phone world (but one of the good Bentleys, not one of those where the wheels fall off).

HTC Touch (Unlocked)

HTC, the company behind many of today's most popular Windows Mobile smart phones, is known for offering a broad range of devices. It has done petite, thin, and powerful, and it's even gone above and beyond traditional smart phones, as we saw at CTIA 2007 with the introduction of the HTC Shift and HTC Advantage. And now, the company has once again pushed the limits of design with its latest project: the HTC Touch.
http://www.gsdbuy.com/quad-band-cell-phones-c-1_2/
Under the hood, the Touch isn't that different from its HTC and Windows Mobile 6 sibling, the T-Mobile Wing. Yet the HTC Touch makes its mark by offering TouchFLO, a brand-new user interface that allows you to operate the unlocked qual band just by swiping your finger on the device's touch screen. It's innovative and cool, but it's also flawed. Our main concern is the lack of a sizable keyboard, which is a huge drawback for messaging fanatics, and it even slows down simple tasks such as entering new contacts.
HTC is hoping to capture a broader consumer audience with the Touch--someone who is thinking of making the leap from a cell phone to a smart phone--and it's certainly a step in the right direction. It's fun to use, so we didn't feel like we were using a corporate-geared device. We also absolutely welcome the innovation in technology and design, as it opens up the doors to smarter and cooler phones. That said, we're not sure the HTC Touch is quite ready for mass consumption yet. There are some niggling design quirks, and performance can sometimes be sluggish. But mostly, if the company can find a better solution for text input (perhaps by the time it's finally released in the States?), then the unlocked phone could certainly catch on. Bottom line: it's a good first effort, but we'd hold off for now.
Finally, we'd be remiss not to mention the Apple iPhone here. With its touch screen capability, there's a natural inclination to compare the two. In fact, the Touch has already solicited a few, "Oh, so it's like the iPhone?" responses from casual observers. Will it rival the iPhone? We'll know in just a couple of weeks.
The gsm qual band is on sale now in the United Kingdom and will ship in the rest of Europe and Asia later this month. U.S. availability is expected during the second half of the year. No official word on pricing or carrier, but we'll keep you updated with any news and will re-evaluate the device once the we get the U.S. version of the band mobile phone
DesignThe HTC Touch is unlike any other smart phone the company has produced in a number of ways. Obviously, the TouchFlo interface is the biggest story, but the Touch also is the smallest touch screen smart phone that we've seen in recent memory. The handset measures a petite 3.9 inches long by 2.8 inches wide by 0.5 inch tall and weighs just 3.98 ounces, fitting nicely in the palm of your hand and easily slipping into a bag or pants pocket. Compare that to the bulky Palm Treo 755p (4 inches by 2.3 inches by 0.8 inch; 5.6 ounces) or Cingular 8525 (4.4 inches by 2.2 inches by 0.8 inch; 6.2 ounces). In addition, the device features a soft-touch finish (a la T-Mobile Dash), to give the device a nice, rubberlike texture that makes the phone easy to grip.
Moving on to the touch screen. First off, the screen itself measures 2.8 inches diagonally and displays 65,536 colors at a 240x320 pixel resolution. That's all pretty standard, but what sets the screen apart from other smart phones is the TouchFLO technology behind it. Basically, it allows you to operate certain portions of the smart phone with a series of finger swipes or taps. To complement this functionality, HTC also made some interface and menu changes so you can more easily access your messages, applications, and other pertinent information.
Starting with the home screen, if you've used Windows Mobile devices before, you'll notice a new look and feel right away. On top of the shortcuts to your contacts and calendar, you now have one-touch access to your messages, call list, frequently used applications, and even weather. Frankly, it reminds us of the Spb menu interface we saw on the Pharos GPS Phone 600e, and whether it's a copycat or not, we appreciate the convenience of this new interface. From there, you then can dig deeper into the smart phone by dragging your thumb from the bottom of the screen (around the HTC logo) to the top. That will take you to a new screen where you can cycle through a 3D interface of three menu choices: Applications, Contacts, and Media by swiping your finger left to right or vice versa. Launching a program only requires a tap on the appropriate icon. To get back to the home page, just sweep from the top to the bottom of the display.

HTC added new launcher menus to make it easier to access your messages, the Web, and more.

Thequal band mobile phone is also smart enough to know the difference between a tap and finger sweep, which comes in handy for scrolling through e-mails and Web pages. When checking out a Web site, a quick flick up or down will tell the Touch to automatically scroll through the page. You can then stop the action by tapping the screen. You can do this with your Office documents, e-mails, and more--all very cool.
Overall, it only took us a few minutes to get a good understanding of those commands, but we needed more time to learn how the touch screen works once you're in an application. For example, to exit out of a Word document, our natural inclination was to swipe the screen downward, similar to what's needed to get back to the home page. But that's not the case. Rather, you press the X or OK box at the top right of the screen, or you can drag your finger upward to get back to the 3D menu. Oh, another thing we noticed: the TouchFLO technology doesn't seem to work when you switch from portrait to landscape mode--oops.
However, our biggest beef with the HTC is that there's no easy way to enter text. Given the compact design, a full QWERTY keyboard is clearly out, but you're reduced to using a tiny virtual keyboard that absolutely requires the use of a stylus. I have pretty small hands and couldn't accurately type messages with my fingertips. Having nails may help, but the stylus is your best bet. It's true that the HTC Touch isn't meant to be a messaging machine for the power business user, but pecking out notes with the little stylus and onscreen keyboard just doesn't sound appealing or efficient. We really hope this is something HTC will reconsider or tweak in the future--perhaps before the device arrives in the States. On the bright side, the virtual dialpad for making phone calls is spacious and usable.

Shadow Homescreen

What is "Neo"?
Hi everyone, I’d like to move away from Messaging posts for a bit, and talk a little bit about a project that my team worked on for the last few months. It was codenamed “Neo” and you can see it in stores now.
Just a Shadow of the old homescreen left…
Some of you might have heard of the T-Mobile Shadow. The Shadow is a cool-looking device, with a 20 key slide-out keypad, circular scroll wheel, and largehome screen! But when you boot up for the first time, you may wonder, “Is this really Windows Mobile?”
The answer is YES! :-)
With this phone you get a friendly home theater service experience and integration with your T-Mobile myFaves service. For those who don’t know, the myFaves service from T-Mobile allows you to make unlimited calls to five designated people. From the homescreen, you can make changes to your five myFaves and get information about them.
http://www.gsdbuy.com/audio-tv-home-theater-c-29/
For example, if you missed a call or text message, or if there’s an upcoming anniversary or birthday, little micro-icons will appear next to your myFave (in the accompanying image, notice the little birthday gift next to the upper left myFave).
“Cuddlier”?
Yup, that’s one adjective used by one reviewer, thanks to our daily group hug scrums :-). (I'm kidding)
Also, it’s not possible to see from the still image, but the home theater video is full of animations when one moves around on it. I've included a video capture here.
There are linear and circular functions of not just position and size, but also alpha blending (fading in/out). These animations do a lot to give an organic feel to the UI.
Hardware and Software Hand-in-Hand
Normally when Windows Mobile creates a release, we release it out to OEMs who then do their own customizations. With this release, however, Microsoft worked with the OEM to create an experience that catered to what T-Mobile wanted. The OEM, HTC, had their talented industrial design team working on the hardware form-factor and wheel. Microsoft wrote the homescreen and worked out an interface for the myFaves information to bubble up for the user to see.
We worked with T-Mobile to finalize the user interaction as per their requirements. For example, in the animation you can see the myFaves flying in and out - that was a T-Mobile feature request in order to enable user privacy (so you avoid the awkward "Why is my boyfriend on your Fave 5?!" moment).
Finally, we presented various asset and color combinations to T-Mobile to finalize the look and feel. Li, our PM, spent many nights up with HTC and T-Mobile to match software colors with hardware, and now the Shadow comes in two hardware colors that match the UI. You can see the colors to the right (I know, I'm not much of a photographer).
The Default Homescreen and Neo
What’s different about Neo compared to Microsoft-shipped homescreens is the liberal use of the QVGA screen for images. Remember the Windows default dvd home theater that ships with every Windows Mobile Standard device? It shows as much information on the screen as possible to minimize scrolling. It was designed for a user who wants to view things on the go without touching the device.
The default dolby home theater puts as many plugins on the screen at once, but Neo does the opposite – each plugin occupies one full page. When you navigate up and down, the whole screen animates to the newly-activated plugin. In addition, there is a navigation bar on the left so you can tell which plugin you’re at.

Ulysse Nardin Chairman - a luxury phone that Technical Markus likes??

You know the drill, by now; I wheel out another luxury phone for us to look at, we point and laugh at the price, I mither about them having rubbish features then say “er, no thanks,” and we all go home happy. Think back to the Vertus I’ve looked at, and the Motorola Aura, if you need reminding how I feel about this particular class of phone…
However, this may be the part where I eat my previous words, because at long last, after 8 years in this business, I’ve found aluxury mobile phone I actually like the look of!
Now, I could go on about its features, because unbelievably for aluxury phone, it has some. It does appear to be a proper smartphone, with a 2.8 inch, multitouch screen, full email and internet clients, plus WiFi, and a 5 megapixel camera that appears to have an LED flash. Sure, it’s no Sony Ericsson Idou, but if you compare it to phones like the Vertu, it wipes the floor with ‘em.
I could go on about the build quality, that looks to be better than most other mobile phones I’ve come across. It really does come across as the Bentley of thehtc touch phone world (but one of the good Bentleys, not one of those where the wheels fall off).
But no, I’m not going to.
Instead, I’m going to use a phrase I never, ever thought I’d use in my entire life, ever. The Ulysse Nardin Chairman appears to be a luxury phone that will actually save you money in the long run.
Hang on, I need a minute to get my head round that idea…
The reason it may actually save you money is because it’s charging cycle isn’t entirely reliant on it being plugged in the wall. You know those watches that have a little kinetic rotor thing inside, that produces energy to pump into the battery when you move the watch? Same thing here, with a kinetic rotor thing inside the phone. Look, you can see it on the back of the touch diamond phone, peeking through that window above the battery cover.
Therefore, it shouldn’t need charging form the socket as much (since moving the phone will give it some power), and therefore, it’ll save you a bit of money on your electricity bill. Not a lot, but every little helps, as the famoushtc mobiles philosopher Bob Hoskins said in them adverts. Oh, and it’d probably help you reduce your carbon footprint, yadda yadda, and so on.
So, now, I’m forced to get my head round the concept of an eco-luxury-smart phone, that I actually like, and that I actually reckon could be a good buy, and that looks gorgeous.
I think my head’s going to implode…
Still, you can guarantee it’ll be out of my price range (as they say, if you have to ask how much it is, you can’t afford it), but hey, pipe dreams, and all that…

HTmarket's new personal shopper service

So you want to set up a home theater service but you're not quite sure how to put it all together. Or maybe you just don't have the time to pick it all out yourself, or you simply want the benefit of someone else's experience weighing in. It looks like HTmarket.com, the online theater marketplace, may be just what you need! They're taking advantage of the fact that they have a very knowledgable and experienced staff, and launching a new Personal Web Shopper program for anyone to use, free of charge. It's totally unique, and very useful to the aspiring home theater owner!
http://www.gsdbuy.com/audio-tv-home-theater-c-29/
This new service is probably the best way yet to get a tailor-made home theater video that's totally you, without the remorse of having purchased the wrong items or being stuck with something you thought you would need, but don't. And with over ten thousand items in their catalog, you can bet that the home theater you get will be pretty specific to your wants and needs!
Basically, you give HTmarket.com a ring at (888) 764-9273, and they assign you your very own shopper. You describe thedvd home theater you're looking to put together (or whatever it is you're looking to do), and they take lots of notes. The Web Shopper then uses your specifications to assemble the perfect setup. They go over all the products involved with you, and help you design your room and pick what fits. With this service, you'll stay within budget, you'll meet your deadlines, and you won't have to worry about a thing.
]

It's like having Alfred take care of everything for your Batcave. A professional dobly home theater shopping staff at your command... I know it's been a while since anyone gave me that kind of service. The whole thing is complimentary, too, and they don't work on commission; there's no pressure, no obligation, no puppydog eyes. And at the end of it all, the theater you get is YOUR theater, not some generic theater arrangement you have to settle for out of convenience. It's a truly personalized experience.
If you're putting together a home screen, I can't think of any reason not to see what their Personal Web Shoppers can do. The advantages to the service are pretty obvious, and there are no disadvantages. I recommend giving them a call!

OS2008 Homescreen Hackery

Inspired by some screenshots that came through my feed reader the other day, I updated the firmware on my N810 and installed a few new bits of hackery:
http://www.gsdbuy.com/audio-tv-home-theater-c-29/
Those are transparent homescreen apps, and more important than looking slick (if that’s possible) they’re written in python! Homescreen hackery here I come!
Getting the packages installed is a bit of a pain. They don’t one click install unless you install two packages by hand. I had to download python-hildondesktop and hildon-desktop-python loader from this site in order to be able to install and use them. And yes, download and install manually, the app installer doesn’t like them. Download them to your tablet somewhere, become root (I do that with an ssh to localhost myself), and run dpkg -i for both of them. Then you’ll be able to install the actual applets and enable them. w00t!
Home cinema is a term used synonymously with home theater serviceIt helps to make you feel just as if you were in a movietheater as it seeks to reproduce cinema quality picture andsound.
Technically speaking, a home cinema could be as easy toarrange as a television, DVD and some speakers.
It is fairly hard to specify what the difference is betweena -home cinema- from a regular television and stereo.
Most consumer electronics experts agree that ahometheater video integrates a high-quality picture with surroundsound.
If you happen to have a home cinema, you are trying tocapture a real cinema experience. Therefore, you wouldneed a higher sophistication and quality set of componentsover that which an average television can provide. Settingup a home theater would include getting the followingparts:
1. Input devices - You should have one or more video/audiosources. HD DVD home theater or Blu-ray are preferable.
2. Processing devices - A stand alone AV receiver can bechosen or perhaps you would prefer a Preamplifier and SoundProcessor. The choice is yours.
3. Audio output - You must have anywhere from 2 to 11speakers with an additional subwoofer.
4. Video output - You must have a large HDTV display. Thereare several options to choose from: Liquid crystal displaytelevision, plasma TV, video projector, CRT TV or arear-projection TV.
5. Atmosphere - In order to improve the cinema feel, youshould have comfortable seating and organization.
There you have it! These are the basic things to have whenyou consider having a dolby home theater. Pretty soon you’ll besaying, “Let’s go in to the movies!”

Cect HT-508 dual SIM mobile phone test

I think in these days everybody who has an active life and lives in a city owns a dual sim cell phones. There are a lot of brands like Nokia, Sony Ericsson , Samsung that create a lot of types of mobile phones, everyone better than the previous and with a lot of gadgets for them. Al most every non-low-cost phone has a camera build-in, a music player, a video player and stuff like this that are meant to make our life nicer and proud of ourselves , but in the same time they make us want every time a better gadget.
A big problem appeared along with the great offers of the telecommunication companies. Everyone has great offers but for using inside their network. Many people began to wear with them dual sim card phones. I am one of those. So time asked a new invention: 2 mobile phones in a single one.
There are many companies that created Dual Sim phones, but mainly their origins are in China . One of the best company is CECT. They create a lot of dual sim phones, some of them unfortunately being copies of mobile phones from well known companies.
I’ll give you a few examples :
Cect P-168 Ifone vs. Apple Iphone
Nokia 6300 vs. Cect 6300

Cect N95 vs. Nokia N95

Cect N73 vs Nokia N73

….. and this list can continue as they are very good working people.
Anyway this is maybe the bad side….no inspiration, but the results are very good and the company is growing very fast. They give nice looking product at very affordable prices.

Special Case – CECT HT-508
As I heard a lot of talking about these dual sim card phones and I was caring 2 mobile phones with me I decided to test one of these products. I bought a Cect HT-508:
First impression… very nice. I expected something maybe cheep looking, but I had a nice surprise. My first problem with it was …turning it on. I pun the battery in it but… no turning on. After a few “scientific researching” of pushing every button like crazy I made a long press on the top right button and the phone started.
When the phone started I instantly had a problem: CHINEESE language. So I searched the internet and I found the magic key sequence: *#0000# . This resets the language phone to english. The screen is looking great, has a very good resolution 240×320 and 265.000 colors. So personally no complaining about it . The touch screen works very good , nice response. I hate the pen for the touch screen. That looks cheap and it’s not extendable. It has a fixed length and …it’s kind of short.
The sound is ok…I really don’t know how to describe it. It has a very high volume, so until now I didn’t manage to set it to ring decently so I won’t have a heart attack sometime when it will ring. Beside this is a very nice mp3 player and if you use your earphones it’s really nice. The AudioPlayer can be played in the background so it can be used easily as an mp3 player. You can customize very well the ringtones for every sim separately, so that you’ll know from the ringtone on what phone are you called.
What I hate about it is the default sounds and that I can’t customize the message tone. I had to deal with what the phones has and they are not really nice.
The camera is …just an ordinary mobile phone camera. Definitely not a 3.0 MegaPixels camera. It’s very good for a quick photo so that you can remember something nice. The maximum resolution is 1280×960 and the clarity of the photos is ….let’s say almost ok. I kind of like how it records videos….continuous with no braking and you can easily see what it meant to record. So the video recording is very ok for a mobile phone … as much as I’ve tested. By the way it has 2 cameras one in the back and one in the front, but if you wonderer…..NO, it doesn’t support 3G.
The games are boring. Nothing special….you’ll get bored by them in the first day. So that’s it about the games.
For connectivity the phone has Bluetooth, GPRS and cable connection. They are ok. Nothing special about this section. Everything is exactly as you know from every dual sim phones. Special thing about it is that once you connect your phone to your PC with a data cable you get 3 options on the phone screen: Mass Storage ( option that shows your phone to the PC as a mass storage device), WebCam (with this you can use your phone as a personal webcam) and the last option is COM port.
Once you have connected your phone to your PC by a com port you’ll need some software to work with the phone. I tried a lot of them and only one worked : PhoneSuite v2.1.4.
The PhoneSuite
It’s very nice, very intuitive and good for basic modifications and operations.
Some hints :
For making your phone silent you have to make a long press on the # key.
For locking the keys…well here is a little problem. The only way is to set from the menu a timing in which you want the keys to get locked. For unlocking them you have to press # twice.
The annoying icons non removable from the screen (in the buttons) are real buttons. Every one has the function given by the icon.
When you installed your second sim don’t panic is nothing happens it will react but it will take some time.
The card used by this phone is microSD and it works very nicely.
Another good resource for this phone is the website : http://www.gsdbuy.com/dual-sim-phone-c-1_5/ Here you can download tons of wallpapers , screen savers and bootscreens. Very nice website.

M860 GSM triband dual standby watch phone

A mobile phone can be a bewildering affair for a traveler. It is mostly incompatibility with the network of your visiting country, since every country in the world has different frequency band of operation.
Almost all parts of the world operate on GSM technology, except USA and Canada. Originally GSM operated at a frequency of 900 MHz, which is being continuously upgraded and now works on 1,800 MHz service. With a GSM phone, you can access service in 212 different countries. Some of the mobile phones available in the United States and Canada operate on GSM, but most of them are of a different frequency band. The GSM service available in North America is of a totally different frequency of 1,900 MHz and sometimes 850 MHz, which is different from the standard of 1,800 MHz. Not all countries in the world use the standard 900/1,800 MHz GSM. The exceptions being, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Korea, and some Central/South American countries, with some limited coverage of the standard GSM networks.
Today, mobile phones have become a part of daily living. We often wonder how we ever lived without them. Whether you are traveling on business or on a holiday, unlocked qual band offer incredible services during your journey. However, they also present some challenges, when you wonder if that mobile phone you have will work while you travel from one place to the other.
There are three bands on which the mobile transmission is based on, with different countries operating on a different frequency falling under different bands. Today, quad band mobile phones take away the fear in you, relieving you from that worry, if your mobile phone will work in UK.
The obvious convenience of having a mobile phone makes you feel safe where-ever you are, with the facility that it has to quick-access for help when you need it and talk to the people important to you. It is one of the most economical and essential life-long product in anyone’s life today. Think about those olden days when you had to make a call from your hotel room. Think about the bill that you paid, just for your telephone calls. Now you have a mobile phone, a partner to your daily life. You can already feel the difference. Today, many of these phones are being offered with exceptional plans that may include, free airtime, cheaper long distance charges and in some cases cheaper international roaming charges. In India, for example, service providers have started to offer life time incoming calls on pre-paid sim cards of your mobile. Realising such a benefit, you feel comfortable that atleast you are available on your mobile phone. Prices are dropping every month, which started with a huge investment when mobile phones were first introduced.
Let us look at why all mobile phones are not compatible.
There are two explanations to this reason. The first one being that all service providers in this world do not operate on the same radio frequency band and encoding services. Therefore, when you travel to UK, your unlocked phone might not be compatible with the kind of frequencies that the service providers offer.
The second point is a bit complicated. To enable a mobile phone from the United States to work in UK, the service providers in UK, or vice-versa, must have a cross-billing arrangement with one or more service providers in the other country. This cross-billing arrangement is a commercial deal between the service providers of the two countries, which results in allowing roaming in your mobile phone. In some cases the roaming facility in your phone, needs to be activated by your service provider in US. If this is the case, then, you have to have roaming enabled before you go out of the country. This arrangement falls under International Roaming. The same is the case with National Roaming. Therefore, you need to have such a phone, which would accept all the three bands the service providers operates on in this word, and such a phone is the one with quad band features. Dual band phones on the other hand would work anywhere in the world except the Unites states.
Let us look at some of the problems with mobile phones in the United States. If you are in US and you have a mobile phone which you would like to have the international roaming facility, your best bet would be to sign up with service provider who provides GSM. The two major GSM service providers in US are T-Mobile and Cingular, with the consideration that AT&T has now been merged with Cingular.
This sounds like a perfect solution. You now have one phone which works all over the world. If you have decided on such an arrangement, it must be what you want. But, you need to consider that GSM service is quite limited in US. That takes you back a bit. No, there is no solution for that. To have your way, you will have to maintain two mobile phones, one with a major established network in US and a second; having the GSM service with roaming features.
GSM quad band is a state-of-art technology, offering fax capability and Short Messaging Service (SMS). Most of the service providers offer e-mail to SMS feature, making it possible to receive important announcements and information over your mobile phone, viz., receiving flight updates and breaking news alerts. Many offer quick connectivity to ISDN services, there by allowing fast data transmission. The latest generation offers Global Packet Radio Service (GPRS), which enables you to connect to a high-speed data communication channel, faster than 9,600 bps.
We have discussed the limitation of GSM services available in US vis-à-vis roaming. We have also said that in order to over-come this limitation and avail international roaming as well, you would have to maintain two mobile phones, one with a major established network in US and the second; having the GSM service with the roaming features. Instead of maintaining a second phone, mobile phone rental service is also available. There are many outlets who would rent you these phones with perhaps certain terms, viz., you would need to get your relevant sim card from them. To look into the prospects of mobile phone rentals you may like to visit this website http://www.gsdbuy.com/quad-band-cell-phones-c-1_2/RENT_INFO.shtml which provides you with the details that you would need to have.
The GSM has made roaming between operators a very common affair, facilitating the users to carry their mobile in almost every part of the world. GSM is considered to be a second generation (2G) band mobile phone system.

The CUTE phone on the block

Motorola, maker of such stylish mobile watch phones as the Moto Razr, Moto Rizr etc. has decided to mass produce its concept cartoon mobile phone which is called ‘cute phone’. Though it is totted as being the next in line for the smart phone title it has a very limited range of offerings.
It has only a few buttons and it can stand, hide, click snaps and has a colour screen. The internal functionalities are still up to us to guess but going by the size, rather the volume of the phone, one can easily guess that it can accommodate a few

more gizmos.
This “HELLO KITTY” cartoon phone is designed by designer Joseph Liang. Though it is named as “Cute phone” FATTY would be more suitable title, but alas FATTY is the nickname of the new iPhone touch which was reportedly leaked on the itunes site.
The CUTE PHONE would definately not fit the pockets of any type of trousers, be it stretch jeans, cotton casuals or formals and could only be totted around with the help of a keychain or strap. What do you think about the chubby oops china watch phone wholesales Would you like to buy one ? Should Motorola name it “CUTE” or “CHuBBY” as in MOTO CHUBBY? Here are a few pictures of the same…

MP4 player, touchscreenChina MP4 player , Personal Media Player, gadget, MP3, music player Well, due to some shady marketing about Rockchips last chipset release (RK2712), i will be taking this bit of news with a pinch of salt. Today Teclast announced plans for their new wholesaleplaymp3 MP4 er (looking sheepishly like a digital photo frame) mp3 mp4 player, the M66. Within the M66 breaths the new RK2806 chip, capable of support 720p resolution of RMVB, FLV and avi. To top it off it will be using the Wolfson WM8988 DAC (i think the same one that the new Meizu M8 uses), i assume the wolfson chip is to compete with the Cirrus Logic DAC that is used in conjunction with the CC1600 media chip.

Well its good to see Rockchip finally coming out with a media chip capable of very high resolution playback, i am mostly happy as players that use the Rockchip solution tend to have better UI and more variety, unlike the great clone war raging with the CC1600 chip.

Motorola mobile concept: The cute phone

At first glance, this may look like some form of gadget or Cartoon Mobile Phones, but it’s actually a phone. This unofficial Motorola concept isn’t one that has been equipped with amazing technology if that is what you’re expecting from its design. It boasts a very limited button selection as you can see, a camera, color screen and a hiding feature. I don’t think there is much else to say, apart from the fact that if you did have one of these you would probably attract quite alot of attention because no one has seen something as odd as this. By the way, if you translate it from Japanese, you’d be calling it the cute phone, which is a funny name…

MP4 player

The name china MP4 player is a marketing term for portable media players that comply with certain standards and formats.[3] The name itself is a technical misnomer, since most MP4 players are incompatible with the MPEG-4 Part 14 or the .mp4 container format. Instead, the term symbolizes their status as successors of MP3 playe
[edit] Technical information

[edit] Rockchip
Fuzhou Rockchip Electronics’s video processing Rockchip has been incorporated into many wholesale MP4 players, supporting AVI with no B frames in MPEG-4 Part 2 (not Part 14), while MP2 audio compression is used.[5] The clip must be padded out, if necessary, to fit the resolution of the display. Any slight deviation from the supported format results in a Format Not Supported error message.

[edit] Other chipsets
Some players, like the Onda VX979+, have started to use chipsets from Ingenic, which are capable of supporting RealNetworks’s video formats.[6] Also, players with SigmaTel-based technology are compatible with SMV (SigmaTel Video).

[edit] AMV

Another MP4 player from Newsmy, a major PMP manufacturer in China
Main article: AMV video format
The image compression algorithm of this format[7] is inefficient by modern standards (about 4 pixels per byte, compared with over 10 pixels per byte for MPEG-2 / DVD video). There are a fixed range of resolutions (96 × 96 to 208 × 176 pixels) and frame-rates (12 or 16 frame/s) available. A 30-minute video would have a filesize of approximately 100 MB at a 160 × 120 resolution.[8]

[edit] MTV
The MTV video format (no relation to the cable network) consists of a 512-byte file header that operates by displaying a series of raw image frames during touch screen mp4 playerplayback.[8] During this process, audio frames are passed to the chipset’s decoder, while the memory pointer of the display’s hardware is adjusted to the next image within the video stream. This method does not require additional hardware for decoding, though it will lead to a higher amount of memory consumption. For that reason, the storage capacity of an MP4 player is effectively less than that of a player that decompresses files on the fly.

[edit] Instruction manuals
The instruction manuals usually contain the basic information to operate and use the devices, but sometimes lack further detail. They are often poorly translated into English, resulting in a phenomenon known as Engrish.[citation needed]

Digital Camera

Its true…you will have to face the fact! You can trust people but you won’t really know what goes on when you are not around, unless you can see it with your own eyes. I’ve read a lot about wireless digital cameras and the many ingenious ways that they are used these days. Your eyes cannot be everywhere at once but you can have a wireless hidden camera almost anywhere, anytime watching what you want to see. Which inheritably means you could be the one being “watched”…hmmm. There are many ideal situations where you may find a wireless digital camera in china is your best friend. Even if you are not there to watch the action in real time you can have the cameras receiver hooked up to a recording device (VCR or PVR for example) so that you can see what has happened when you weren’t there. Some great devices will come with the camera and recording device built right into one item such as a clock, teddy bear, picture frame or even an iPod docking station! What would you use a wireless hidden camera for? Are you…. The concerned parent that: Can keep a watchful eye on the new baby sleeping in the crib while you are in another room. Wants to know that the hired Nanny is treating your child right. Will know if your teenager is the trouble maker when you are not around. The homeowner who is aware of: Visitors at your front door. People snooping around your backyard. Thieves eyeing out your car or other items outside your house. The business owner who: Needs to find out where missing money and inventory is being “donated” to. Can be alerted when someone enters the premises during business hours and after hours too. Knows for sure that the employee is doing the job that you are paying them to do. BUT lets not disregard one use of a wireless hidden camera that I know many of you are thinking… Is my spouse having infidelity issues? Does someone come to visit my spouse only when I’m not around? Is there some inappropriate behavior going on with someone of the opposite sex or even of the same sex??? Oh the many uses of the wireless hidden camera

Today we’re presenting you with a China-made watch phone which also comes with a touchscreen. In addition, this one doesn’t look that bad — not that it’s cool lookin’ or something, it’s just quite simple — and is also not that large. Beside the touchscreen that can display resolution of up to 176×220 pixels, this watch phone also has control keys on the underside of the main body. Then, there’s 60MB of built-in memory, Bluetooth and USB support. There were no room left for the microSD card though…
